It’s that time of year again were I present my must haves and favorites of the past 12 months. I can’t quite remember what lead me to try the first product in this favorites list, but it has become a staple in my skin care routine.
1. Olay Regenerist (original cream & retinol 24)
I purchased both moisturizers and noticed an immediate difference. I use the original cream in the morning and the retinol one at night. I’ve notice that my face is firmer and smoother. Throughout the day, my skin maintains moisture and has a subtle shine. The cream doesn’t clog my pores, so pimples have been minimal to nonexistent since implementing. Olay Regenerist is one budget friendly product that I would recommend.
It seems every year I have an item from the TGIN (Thank God It’s Natural) brand on the list or a deep conditioner of some sort.
2. TGIN Miracle RepaiRx Deep Hydrating hair mask
I’ve really enjoyed most of their products. This product leaves my hair manageable and soft more than any other of its kind. It’s thick in consistency and distributes well throughout the hair. The easy distribution allows a little to go a long way, but given my heavy handedness, I tend use a large amount with one wash. With the deep conditioner on your hair, sit under a hooded dryer for about half an hour, rinse, and you’ll feel like you’ve just come from a salon visit. I’d also like to plug two of their hair oils that I find have help minimize dandruff and add moisture to my typically dry scalp.
The final two favorites are just modifications to my health journey, however, they’re included because of the noticeable change. I don’t think it’s within me to completely cut something out of my diet. The act would just send me spiraling into a binge. However, I can practice restrictions.
3. Gluten restrictive
I’m not sure when I started incorporating gluten free items, such as bread and desserts. But there is a noticeable difference in my stomach and overall gut health. By limiting the amount of gluten consumed, my stomach is significantly flatter. So much so that I don’t foresee myself going back to an eat whatever you want type of lifestyle. Gluten restrictive is here to stay and might even progress into further limitations. I’ve included a link with more information about gluten below.
4. Dairy restrictive
The story behind and reasons for being dairy restrictive is identical to the gluten restrictive one. All digestive discomfort is reduced. I grew up on cheese. Pizza and cheese snacks were a weekly, if not daily, part of consumption. Practicing dairy restriction has been the toughest for me. There is dairy in everything. But I will continue the attempt and hopefully get to a point where I lack a taste for it. I’ll probably write more of the progress on later posts and also detail my experience with intuitive eating.
Until my 2022 favorites, be merry,
Alisia Latoi
