The year 2022 was focused on reconnecting. I reconnected with friends, some of which I hadn’t seen in person since the pandemic. I traveled, started a new job, finished graduate school, and experience activities that were since shut down. The reconnection was needed after a few years of difficulty. Now is the season for sharing some favorites from throughout the year and goals upcoming.
Favorites:
This years list will be short. It includes two things new to me and two things old that were reintroduced.
Kombucha- I’ve heard a lot of good things about this drink and didn’t believe the hype until I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and I am hooked. This probiotic drink has help to quiet my stomach and has been a daily consumption. https://www.target.com/p/gt-39-s-synergy-mystic-mango-organic-vegan-kombucha-16-fl-oz/-/A-49153782#lnk=sametab
Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid Antiperspirant- If you are like me and are prone to sweating, then this deodorant is an excellent option to try. I have found that it reduces perspiration through out the day. It’s pricier than most deodorants but is worth it. https://www.target.com/p/secret-clinical-strength-completely-clean-invisible-solid-antiperspirant-deodorant/-/A-79777692?preselect=14898112#lnk=sametab
Gel-Kayano 27 ASICS- I used this brand of athletic shoes in the past but found them to wear out quickly and be uncomfortable. However, I recently revisited the brand and found comfort in the Gel-Kayano (the one purchased and the image is model 27) ASICS. These shoes are stabilizing and does not cause discomfort while working out. I’ve worn them for over a year now and they have not decreased in support since. https://www.asics.com/us/en-us/gel-kayano-27-d/p/ANA_1012A713-300.html?width=Wide
Trader Joe’s- I use to be a regular at this store but stop going during the pandemic. I went back this year and didn’t realize how much I missed it. I have my favorite items but discovering new ones has been the best. I also feel like my money goes further at this grocery retailer. I am there every week. https://www.traderjoes.com/home
Ambitions:
My routine has been out of wack for a while now. I’m sure it’s been mentioned in past blogs. I wake up, dress, and log into work. My nights end anywhere from midnight to 3 am, much credit to insomnia and anxiety. I have to make improvements in order to apply daily easiness. While 2022 was about reconnecting, 2023 will be about getting back to a sense of routine with use of the below.
Set a budget while remembering you are worth the cost of certain luxuries. I want to set a budget or spend limit, mainly for groceries which can get out of hand if I’m not careful. But while setting a budget, I want to allow myself certain luxuries that I’ve denied in the past.
Use a daily planner as my new journal. This planner will include my tasks, meal plan, workouts, and accomplishments each day. Other than digital apps, I like to use the traditional pen and paper for planning and will be purchasing a planner found on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P59XWJ8/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_3?smid=A3M5DDDEPYMTH1&psc=1
Set a morning and night routine. This is extremely important. Having a set time to wake up and go to sleep are one of the keys to success. Having action items to complete once awake or when preparing to go to sleep, gives purpose to the schedule.
Use the air fryer. This is a silly one. LOL. I brought an air fryer over a year ago and have yet to use it. Adding the action to this list will provide accountability to use it going forward.
By the close of 2023, I anticipate to back on a routine and be able to discuss the experience in a different blog. Until then, wishing continued health, peace, and happiness.
With anticipation,
Alisia Latoi
